ENHANCING SKILL ACQUISITION OF BUSINESS EDUCATION UNDERGRADUATES FOR ENTREPRENEURIAL DEVELOPMENT THROUGH AI TOOLS IN PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES, SOUTH EAST NIGERIA
Abstract
The study examined how artificial intelligence (AI) could enhance the skill acquisition of Business Education undergraduates for entrepreneurial development in public universities in the South Eastern, Nigeria. Two research questions and two null hypotheses guided the study. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design was adopted in the study. The population of the study was 671 made up of 619 undergraduates (year three and four) and 52 lecturers from the four Federal Universities that offer Business Education. The sample of 332 comprising 280 undergraduates drawn using purposive sampling technique and the entire 52 lecturers were chosen. Data were obtained through the researcher's structured questionnaire, which was validated by three experts. The overall reliability coefficient value of 0.80 was obtained using the Cronbach Alpha statistical tool. Data were analysed using mean and standard deviation and t-test statistic. Findings among others showed that applying natural language processing (NPL), and AI-driven simulation and gamified learning experiences in skill acquisition could greatly enhance the entrepreneurial development of the students. Based on these findings, it was recommended that the ITS should be designed in such a manner to accommodating the undergraduates learning space in business education, among others.
