ELECTRONIC LEARNING AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF BUSINESS EDUCATION STUDENTS IN UNIVERSITY OF CALABAR
Abstract
The study investigates the influence of electronic learning and academic performance of business education students in university of Calabar. To achieve the aims of the study, three research questions were raised, and three null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. A survey research design was adopted for the study. A total population of the study was one hundred and forty-five (145) respondents responded to the instrument. The instrument used was a research questionnaire titled "Electronic Learning and Academic Performance Questionnaire (ELAPQ) validated by two experts in the department of vocational education in University of Calabar. The data collected were analyzed using mean and standard deviation for the research questions. The hypotheses were tested at the 0.05 level of significance using an independent t-test statistics. The findings of the study revealed that the usage of internet browsing, e-mail and power point presentation significantly influence academic performance of business education students in University of Calabar. Among others thing it was recommended that; students should be encouraged to use internet browsing for academic purposes and not for leisure.
